Nuberg wins $15mn Abu Dhabi chemical plant deal
Al Ghaith Industries in Abu Dhabi has awarded a $15mn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a Chlor Alkali chemical plant to India's Nuberg Engineering.
The plant will allow Al Ghaith to double its capacity to produce caustic sosa from 140 to 280 metric tons per day.
The contract represents the second phase of works at the site. The first, which was a project worth $19mn, is currently in the commissioning phase, while the newly-awarded deal is due for completion in the first quarter of next year.
The caustic soda plant will also produce a range of co-products including hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite and calcium chloride, which are used by the region's oil and gas industry.

Nuberg Engineering wins Rs 1,000 crore contract from UAE's Al Ghaith Industries
NEW DELHI: Engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) company Nuberg Engineering today said it has won a Rs 1,000-crore contract to set up a $150 million chemical complex for the Abu Dhabi, UAE-based industrial conglomerate Al Ghaith Industries.
"This will be Nuberg's biggest contract... The complex will have 350 TPD Caustic Soda and 60 TPD Hydrogen Peroxide plants and is set to come up at the Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad) in Abu Dhabi," Nuberg said in a statement.

Al Gaith sets up Dh70m dried salt factory
The Abu Dhabi-based Al Gaith Holdings is setting up a new pre-vacuum dried salt factory, the first such facility in the country.Production is pegged at 70,000 metric tonnes annually and the salt will be used in drilling fluids and completion of oil wells.Initial investment outlay is Dh70 million. “The factory will be the first of its kind in the UAE and the largest producer of PVD (pre–vacuum dried) salt in the Gulf.We plan to cater to the local markets mainly but at a later stage we are planning to cater to neighbouring markets,” said Ahmad Al Kassem, general manager, Al Gaith Oilfield Supplies and Services, another company under Al Gaith Holdings.The factory will be located in the Abu Dhabi Industrial City and production will start in six months.

Al Ghaith Industries Caustic Soda Project in Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD1)
Al Ghaith Industries LLC, member of Al Ghaith Group has obtained all necessary licenses to start construction work on caustic Soda plant to be constructed in ICAD1.
Mr. Almamoon Al Baadani, General Manager - Alghaith Industries said "we are pleased with the progress of the project, so far both basic and detailed engineering is completed. We have placed orders on all long lead items and delivery of the main long lead units is expected by 2nd quarter, 2014. We feel our selection of environmental friendly membrane technology from M/SAsahi Kasahi, Japan is excellent choice as Asahi Kasahi is a well known name around the world in the caustic soda manufacturing. In addition, Al Ghaith Industries appointed Al Ghaith Constructions LLC as the main civil contractor for the project and piling work has been subcontracted to S& H Engineering LLC. Construction at site is expected to start this month and we expecting to start commercial production on first quarter 2015"
